Over a year ago, I took up poetry as my hobby, both writing my own personal poetry and reading collections of poems from my favourites, such as Rudyard Kipling, Emily Dickinson, Robert Frost, and more. Here’s a sample of some of my own work!
Devil’s Trail
It’s leading somewhere,
This damned devil’s trail,
In spite of all despair,
I know you will not fail,
Your spirit and your compass are broken,
Your whole body’s getting sore,
The birds are not so soft-spoken,
A normal man couldn’t take it anymore,
But these pains are merely fleeting,
This is something you should know,
With words to start repeating:
“Not far to go, not far to go.”
Upon us soon is what you seek,
That makes the journey worth all the woe,
Getting closer to reach the peak,
To gaze upon the valley down below.
